Day 21
that song "someday my prince will come... why? IDK! why I bring it up? I thought I had a point, and at some time I did, but now, just a cliff hanger! maybe you can finish my blog for me! :)
Random thought:
you know how we all have certain things that bug us.. like the chewing of ice, or the sound of a nail filer.... or maybe even a happy person. we ALL have them.
maybe one of those days where the next crunch of ice you wanna just hit the bottom of the glass next time they go to get the ice, and make the glass hit their face. as funny as that may be! :)
do you think Jesus had one of those "pet peeves" when he was on earth... and he couldn't "smack the glass"
again, IDK where this is going!! hehe! this is how my brain works! I start thinking of something, and then when I have a really cool point, my brain switches gears.. so I have all these "cliff Hangers!" in my head!
ANYWHO! my train keeps de-railing... DUCKS! how are the ducks!
(you probally think I am crazy right about now!)
Ducks:
they are great! in little areas they are turning black... so IDK what will happen with that! maybe they will be black... maybe they will be white... maybe they will be both!
that would be awesome! I was thinking about naming one "Duck Duck" (everytime my sister comes home she says "come here duck duck!" and maybe the other one... "Goose" IDK... just a thought!
Kitty:
Doing GREAT! I am so excited about that! :)
he was sitting on my lap, and I would blow on his face when he would look at me. and he wouls give me that "concentrated" look. (like when a cat is about to pounce) and then he would pounce @ my face!
it was really funny. and he would grab the collar of my shirt when he would pounce, but he would miss occasionally! and would fall and then do it again! hehe...
I need to go to bed... long day of cleaning tomorrow!!
God Bless!!!!!!!

Day 20
I am needing to build a cage soon! they are almost to big to fit through the cage door. and like I said, about to hit their heads!!!
I tried putting them in a small shallow tub of water. they didn't like that to much! they freaked and jumped out of the container! hehe! it was prety funny to watch! then the looked at me like I had betrayed our trust! hehe! I never knew this, but ducks do have facial expressions! some pretty good ones to! :)
Kitten:
Juevel Vox! (J.V.) hehe! might end up being his name! pretty... strange! but different!
he is doing great! he was playing more today. I should buy him some toys! because right now he is just playing with his towel.. tail, and little carrier! haha! and then fingers!! which someday will end up being painful!
he still has tons of goop in his eyes! :( still not sure how to fix that.
his paw pads are still really sensitive! we think he burned them on the pavement. cause the day dad found him, it was about 90 degrees I think!
I will post more later!!
God Bless!

Day 19
this blog is gonna be very short, I think!
Ducks:
they defiently need a new cage!!! one is about to start hitting it's head on the top. so my dad and I are hopefully gonna build one this week. a big priority on my "To-Do" list!
they are getting more feathers! not as soft anymore! which is very sad!!! :'( I like the way they use to feel! everyday they seem to be getting more and more skittish! they use to come right up to me... but now they walk around first, and when I go to hold one they run away. I should try and spend even mroe time with them! so hard to do lately!
ok... Kitten:
he is doing GREAT! he got to come in my room today, he sat on my lap while I did my homework! (WHOOO!!!! MATH DURING SUMMER BREAK!!!!!!) *note the sarcasm!!!!
hehe!
but he is walking around, eating. not sure how to put it... but just the little things that matter most.
one thing worries me though. his paw is still bleeding! not sure what to do. i say take him to the Vet and see what they say. I know he is to young for shots or whatever. but we need to do something with that paw of his!
alrighty! well, Goo' Night!
God Bless!

Day 18
But I did find out that ducks don't like Pink! hehe! I can understand, I don't either. but I needed a new sheet to cover them with, and I found an old pink one. well, with the old one I could just cover them and they could care less. with the pink they would start running around, freaking out and quacking every other second, just absoloutly going nuts!!!!
thought that was pretty interesting!
Kitten:
He is doing great! I sat outside with him for about 45 minutes while my family and I were talking. and I was also eating a popsicle, and when I put the wrapper (white plastic) he went nuts! he was playing with it, what he would do was, he would tap it, and then run away, and do the same thing over and over again! it was hysterical!!!
Sadly... Kitty peed on me today, but when I put him in his cat box he went potty again. which is nice! hopefully he will start going in there to go potty!
well. I should log out now.. lots to get done tomorrow!!!
did I mention I hate doing math during the Summer?!?!

Day 17
just the way God made them, I guess in the wild they have to adapt quickly so they can swim and fly and get away from predators!
Ok! where was I.... ducks! As always! :) they are very LOUD! they are getting... well... I don't know what else to call it... but they are getting their adult chirp. their quack! HA! got it! they are getting the deeper quack! which is kinda funny because they will have the deep then the squeaky chirp again! like they are going through puberty! which makes me want to do more research... do they call it puberty for ducks, or what?!?! hehe!
Kitten:
He is doing Great!! he is meowing and purring. walking around and he is even playing with us now! he is eating by himself, still drinking a little bit of the mother's milk substitute! We think he has been away from mam'ma to long, when we pick him up by the scruff of the neck he doesn't do the typical kitten, curling up. he just looks at us like "hey, ya... down here... don't like this! let go!" or something along those lines.
he won't take the bottle anymore, he tries chewing on it instead of trying to suckle on it.... really sad if you think about it!
so glad he is doing this well... the only thing I am worried about... is his eyes, they are constantly getting closed by all the goop! so about every time I check on him I have to clean it out, but hopefully that will go away.... soon!!!!
and his paw... which I mentioned in a previous post, I think! it is defiently gonna take a while to heal! Poor baby!
Ciao
God Bless!!!
Day 16
Today wasn’t that productive with the ducks.
I let them out… only for them to dart around my room chasing one another. even more white than the day before. but, they are getting their feathers!!!! Yay! finally… their wings are almost covered with feathers… they are mostly bald right now.
as for the kitten. We think he is 3 weeks old… at the least. his eyer are still blue… BRIGHT blue… he is barely walking and when he does he is very wobbly! and I don’t blame the poor guy. he is pretty dinged up! he has a band-aid on a paw… the other paw has a piece of skin hanging off of his paw pad.
gtg for now!
God Bless!
Day 15
Today was pretty nice! the ducks are even more white today! and bigger! I swear!!! hehe! they DO grow alot in a day! it is insane! their wings are still bald, but the tail feathers are defiently there! trying to take over but not quite there!
well, my dad brought home a kitten today, only a couple weeks old! poor thing, looks like he was thrown out of a moving car, or fell out or something! because he has a toe that is basically gone, hanging on by ‘a thread’ and then the pad on one of his back paws is almost gone, and he is just tiny, and dehydrated and literally skin and bones (with the fur of course!) He really needs prayer. my dad says he will be surprised if he makes it through the night. which is really sad.
things like this keep happening, an animal gets hurt and I learn to take care of them, and I am just wondering if God wants me to be a Vet… it was my dream as a little girl, like most little girls though! so I use to think it was nothing important… just a dream almost every girl has at some point in her life. but now, my horse, a kitten. when I was younger a baby bird that had fallen out if it’s nest… 2 other kittens that had a disease that should of killed them, I had to bottle feed them. ya’ll probally don’t want to read this… if anyone is reading my blog at all…
Good Night!
God Bless!!!
Day 14
Today was pretty nice! first I went to the beach and got to hang out with some friends of mine!
it is a gorgeous day, even if it is Hot out!! the sun is shining, I have a smile on my face, God provided the perfect amount of sunshine and shade, the water felt great!!!
The ducks are chirping even more, I forgot to cover them last night, so the day started @ 6:35 on the dot! every single time I forget to cover them! oh well, more time to enjoy God’s creations!
I found out what kind of ducks I got! (I think, and hope) they are called Pekin ducks. I did some research on them to see what they look like as ducklings, and what they should look like in the future. well, they match the duckling picture. and then if they turn out to look like the other pictures, I have some gorgeous ducks in my room! hehe! I took them “for a walk” around the house, I want to carry either feed, or maybe duck treats, if they have duckling treats!
they still don’t like going down the stairs… and they aren’t fully sure about going ALL the way up. they get to the 10th step of the 14 stairs, and they stop. I assume to catch their breath or what not! but then they don’t want to get up and go up the next 4 steps! they are loosing their down feathers and getting little feathers. this sounds weird. but did you know that you can look through a ducks nostri and see the other side of the room. it was really cool! I found that out cause I was looking @ pictures of them on the internet and I had to look @ their beaks, so I’m not THAT nuts!! hehe!
ciao for now!
God Bless!!!
( I hope to post pictures soon)
Day 13
just another day in “the duck world” they are even more white today then yesterday. they are pecking @ everything still. and right now they are running around in my room, one chasing the other on a little circles!
Pretty cute actually! everyday their beaks are getting longer and wider! the one still has a HUGE fascination with buttons on my shirts!
but I am curious… can you train ducks… you know, go potty in their cage, don’t peck the mamma… hehe! and all the manners! or the key board, because some how that must be fun!!
Ciao! and God Bless!
Day 12
Well, I woke up this morning… and that saying “things won’t dramatically change overnight” well…. for ducks that is false!!! i woke up and they were almost completely white! they have white splotches all over them! it is kinda funny looking. I won’t be able to tell if they are Female of Male until they are 2 months… and who knows… that might happen overnight, or might not, I could wake up and “BOOM” they have a tail feather pointing down (meaning they are male)
I took them for a walk, down the stairs, out the door, onto the front porch and then back inside up the stairs (which took almost as long as getting them to go down the stairs!) then back to the cage…. I think they are worn out!!!
YAY! which hopefully means less chirping! doubtfull… but I’m hopefull, I need sleep tonight!
Good night!!! God bless!
Day 11
Can’t believe I haven’t posted in a while! I went out of town!
Happy Fathers Day to all those dads out there!!!! you are such an influence to all of us!!!!
the ducks are HUGE! well.. compared to the size they were when I first got them! not sure what to do when they get big… give them away… build an outside cage that a mountain lion can’t get into… hehe! that would REALLY suck!!!!!!
this has to be short.. I have to unpack and all that ‘good’ stuff!
I will try to post again tomorrow!!
God Bless!!
Day 7
today was pretty hectic! I was glad to come home and hear the Very cheerful chirp coming from “the kids” my ducks!
they always seem happy, not troubled, I think I already wrote that in a previous post, but if you think about it, us humans are some what lazy when we have a bad day, or when something bad happens, no matter if it is something like stubbing a toe, or finding out you are losing your house…. they seem to get us down, sure I understand the losing the house and BIG troublesome things like that. but, we need to Trust in God, that he will provide, he promised he would! so why do the little things get us down. the answer is… we are humans, that is the way God made us! we can’t be perfect, and if you think you are…. newsflash, your not, nobody is! I guess my weird way of getting to my point, is that we should be more like ducks! always “smiling” they are in a new place, they were happy with all their friends in the store, but I took them, away from what they are use to… but they don’t care, they sniffed around, took caution about almost every little thing, but then they just get use to it!!!!
well, back to the ducks! right?!?! haha! it is called “ducks and Devotions”
I was doing my devotions today and my Bible is the one where it has a devotion to do everyday, Monday-Sunday. and today was “building a nest” for our young ones, and the Bible verse was
Psalm 84:3
look it up.
but the author of this particular devotion was talking about how she read this and how she thought of 3 points. here they are
1. a nest is a place of security, rest and provision
2. It is a place to lay my children on God’s altar daily
3. it will take a sacrifice of time to seek knowledge and wisdom for my young.
just wanted to share that! I really liked it. well Good night. tomorrow is another day of VBS! God Bless!!
Day 6
alright! Good night for now!
Day 5
not much to say today. except when I got home from VBS, and the ranch I volunteer at, I walked in my room and the Ducks seemed to be so much bigger than when I left them!!! it’s amazing!! they are becoming either VERY brave, or just very stupid. I open the cage doors, and they went up right in front of my Labrador dog, (a bird dog.) ya.. I think they are nuts! hehe! and then, after that, they went and pecked at my cats tail.. CAT!! you know… the animal that meows, eats birds! they must not realize they are birds… or they think they are invincible! perry stupid right?!?! but then when the cat meows, get this! they came running to me, like I had to save them from this “Gynormous” thing they swats at the “innoncent” fluffy creatures pecking at it’s tail! hehe!
Good night. I have another big day ahead of me tomorrow!
God Bless!
Day 4
the ducks are now 11 days old. and keep growing more and more everyday.
they still have their egg tooth and their fuzz! one is getting a little darker each day and I think the other is getting lighter!
might have a white & black duck on my future! and possible more chicks! UGH OH! mom and I are thinking we got a female and Male!
not a good thing… I don’t think! hehe! but I think it would be an amazing experience to watch the chicks develop from the day they were born to well… old age unless we sell them of course! God is giving me so many oppertunities lately! it is so amazing! first.. sorta a bad thing but my horse gets hurt, but i learn how to take care of him. then I get ducks! and then other random things!
My pastor hit the nail on the head today. (totally off subject!) but I wanted to share it! he said that we are all EGR’s! even if we all think that we can’t bug someone that much! (EGR= Extra Grace Required) meaning they annoy you and you want to get out of having a conversation with them. but we should be nice to them because we are an EGR. so we should try to understand Our egr’s better, so we know what other people may be thinking about us!
I will try to post more later. but for now I should go to bed, don’t want to… but I start working at VBS in the morning! Wish me luck!
Day 3
today started out at 7:30. I figured if i want to sleep in at least a little on the weekend… I should cover them with a sheet/blanket/Towel. or anything that you don’t mind getting nibbled at, pecked, or possibly used as their toilet! hehe!
I want to teach them some things… maybe train them so they go in the cage to go to the bathroom… or when I say go to bed they go in… or when I name them… which who knows when that will be I can call them and they will come waddling… like a dog. probally sounds silly. but it’s worth a try… right?
off to the ranch! it’s 9:00 a.m so I better start working!
Hope ya’ll are having a great and blessed day!
Day 2
today began at 6:00 a.m
I realized this morning when the sun comes up, so do ducks! so I did my devotions with them on my lap. they were pecking at my Bible almost the entire time, looked like they were trying to read it. and turn the pages.
now I am sitting down stairs listening to the wind blowing through my open windows, and my ducks chirping. still not sure what to name them… or how to tell if they are male or female. they still surprise me with how loud ducklings can be. who would of guessed that ducks chirp through their nostrils.
God Bless!
Day 1
the first day was interesting. I got all the supplies i needed… I hope. food, food dish, water dish, shavings and a cage, and of course the ducks.
got home and got them all situated.
as I watched them wandering around in their cage, running back and forth from the water to the food. I just stared at them, they were so amazing. Gods creation. little yellow fluff balls.
Later last night my family and I had a Bible study. great message we are reading the book of acts. I love it. it can be somewhat confusing at times, with the wording. but while in the study I could heard the duck start chirping, like they were talking back and forth. it made me smile everytime. and when Bible study was over I brought them down and everyone saw them and they all smiled. it was the typical “awwww” moment. everyone in the room was smiling like all their cares were gone!
